If I were to take the Early Childhood Education course in college, would I be able to upgrade to university into a psychology course that will allow me to be a child psychologist?

Yes, they’re two completely different fields. In order to become a child psychologist, you will need a Ph.D. in order to get a license in whichever state you want to practice. There is also the field of school psychology, which you can often enter with a Master’s degree.
